I know, it’s been close to a month. I just haven’t been feeling so great - still under the weather.

But anyway. Trump this! is on a billboard I saw on either I-71S or I-75S - I can’t remember. It’s for The Ascent, a new building being built across the river in KY. I like the design of the place. If I had the money (hahah!) I might like to live there.

I have a new found love for Kathy Griffin. She is fucking hilarious! I am cat-sitting for a co-worker and have been soaking up the cable television when I am over his house. I’m not sure how many hours I caught of Kathy’s stand-up and her Bravo show, My Life on the D-List. I wish she would come around here or Columbus. B and I would be all over it! I also love her smile :D I just put the first season of her show in my Netflix Queue. I am going to bump it up to the top so I get it soon!

I’m off to bed. Another long week at work awaits me. woo :|

I came across this site that had clips from classic porn films.  A lot of them were starring Ron Jeremy.  Or is the “star” his penis?  ugh.  Anyway, I was really put off by all the body hair.  I am not a fan of body hair on anyone!  Most of the women didn’t have huge fake boobs nor did they shave their twats.  The clips were interesting anyway.  The girls didn’t seem as skanky as you might imagine and there seemed to be a lot more talking.  Not the “dirty” talk you might think of - just things like, “oh that is nice”, “do you like that” - very tame.

And for a complete change in topic: I <3 my English teacher.  Props to Leigh Witherell for being a feminist (not a man-hater), a mom, a student, a truly inspirational woman.

And to the haters calling KL a slut for posing in Playboy - I’m sorry you are jealous that you don’t look as fabulous as she does.  Is it airbrushed?  Probably!  It’s a damn magazine.  Does that matter?  Not to me.  She’s fucking hott.  Now get over your out of shape ugly small minded selves.

Overall theme for the day: Intelligence is sexy.

Sometimes I am the most unmotivated person around. I’m sitting here and it’s just after midnight. I *should* be working on my English. What am I doing instead? Listening to the podcast interview of Kristine Lefebvre by the ArmchairApprentice

The more I read about her (and with this interview) the more I adore her! Very honest with her television experience in addition to life. I respect her for sharing so much about her life and her experience with cervical cancer. I think it is so important for people to understand how serious an issue it is.

I used to work in OB/GYN. Everyday I received test results to sort through for the doctors and I always felt my heart drop when I was would get a seriously elevated CA-125. (that is cancer antigen) Now, the CA-125 is a blood test used to detect ovarian cancer but it is a cancer just the same.

Now, I work with women who have promiscuous sexual history’s, have children, have health insurance and STILL do NOT get regular pap smears. I preach all the time (which they hate) but there is no excuse! Why mention sexual history? HPV. Human papillomavirus which is sexually transmitted and can be a precursor to cervical cancer. Kristine had to have a total hysterectomy. She is young woman who is now unable to have her own children. She took [takes] care of herself in terms of her health care and was lucky that the cancer was detected fairly early.

So, she definitely has topped the list of people who inspire me. She’s a role model who deserves a lot of recognition. [and she has tattoos which are hot. yeah, i have three & crave more]

(maybe i’ll get to work on my English paper, lol!)

[edit: i had to throw an edit in here.  NO, I am not saying that any woman diagnosed with HPV is a promiscuous whore.  I’m simply saying that the more you have sex (unprotected or otherwise) the more risk you are put at for HPV and any other sexually transmitted disease.  Sex it up all you want just BE SAFE.]

Today has been filled to the brim with activity.

B and I woke up early (5am) but then went back to sleep for a bit.  I left at around 9:30 so I could take care of the cat and shower.  I went over to Jenny’s house so she could help me with some Biology lab work.  Thank goodness I work in a cardiology office and that Jenny knows practically everything about vascular stuff!  I left there around 2:30.

B and I went to Coffee Emporium to get some work done.  I was looking for my biology notes and study guide when I realized that I didn’t have them in my bag.  Where were they?  On my desk at work!  We drove down to work so I could retrieve the stupid stuff.  Then we went to the grocery store.  Went back to B’s where we ate left over Indian food from Baba’s

I ended up taking a power nap from 9:30 - 10:00 then got up and worked on my Bio.  B was working on one of her articles for the Encyclopedia and looking over her thesis.

I’m now home and planning on going to bed.  We are going to Coffee Emporium again tomorrow to do more work.  I have to write an English paper and B needs to work on her thesis.

I was really hoping my 3-day weekend would be sort of restful.  hahaha!  No such luck.  Not until this term of school is over (on June 18th!).  Then I’ll just have work to deal with and that’s fine.

I’m out.

~sprightly~

Yep. Today I am 28 years old!

I started the day with my mom. We had breakfast at First Watch. Despite doing very well this week in being wheat and gluten free, I had french toast. I also drank a lot of water and a cup of coffee.

We went to TJ Maxx and I found some great shoes by Rocket Dog. I’ll try and get a picture of them. I also got a super cute purse. It’s sort of shaped like a tiki hut and it has shells on it!

It was off to Old Navy where I got a couple skirts and a pair of shorts. Then to DSW. I tried on these shoes. I know, I know. They are men’s shoes but I was able to find my size and wow! Amazingly comfortable shoes! I wanted go run in them right at that moment. They were $120 so they were not purchased. One) I refuse to pay that much for my running shoes and 2) I’d like to find if they have them in womens.

I’m off to Spa B for a pedi and to grab some dinner!

[edit: They have the shoe’s in womens:  look ]

I find it weird that the event for the World Record for the most Mentos Geysers occurred downtown today.   At the same time it seems very fitting for something like this to happen in the ‘Nati.

Mentos Geyser Mania

I am more than halfway through this term of school and the end cannot come soon enough! Biology III is the class giving me the most trouble. Since I am a visual learner, the lab class is great but lecture - oy. So much information and a test every week! I’ll be grateful to get a ‘C’ in the class (hopefully i can even get that!).

Check Kristine out. She is amazing! A strong, intelligent woman who has beaten cervical cancer while handling a job as a hot shot lawyer AND appearing on The Apprentice. Her official site: Kristine Lefebvre.
